Often we come across a situation where we get stuck between some work but there is this one anime that we really can’t miss. I am sure it can be a cricket match or something else for you guys but for sure we have been in this situation. And if not this, we have been in a situation where we are writing that piece of code where we are referring to some other blogs (who am I kidding, we are copying from stack overflow). We think to ourselves, a second display would have been better but not all of us need it every time, especially those of us who use a laptop.

We want an extended display but not all the time and we prefer it to be portable and trust me, there are products out there which exactly fit this description but not all of us want to invest that much money in something which we don’t need all the time.
I know, a lot of us use Alt+Tab or Task Switching to take a peek and continue the work but an extended display can let us see things instantly and continue the work. We also have a snap feature which we can use while working with a single display and it’s effective too but it depends on the size and resolution of the display. And most of the monitors, especially that of a laptop can make you feel things are pretty cramped.
Before diving into how to use an android tablet or smartphone as an extended display, let’s see why and where it can be helpful.
Can be really helpful for the geeks like me who just want to watch a video on one screen while doing something else on the other screen.
Can be used by gamers to see more of the world they are in by extending the display.
A wonderful help for coders who are writing their codes on one display and the other is reserved for documentation or maybe stack overflow.
Or for anyone who needs to view something while working can be a web page, another document or 2 spreadsheets and the list goes on.
For sure, a secondary display works as a charm but let’s try out something more easy and suitable here. After searching thoroughly, I found an application that helps achieve the goal we are talking about.

Turns windows desktop, windows phone or Surface tablet into an advanced extra display for Windows PC and Surface tablets.
Windows Desktop screen content is shown on Windows device display.
- Windows Desktop Extension
- Windows Desktop Duplication (screen mirroring/cloning)
Steps to use the application -

Download the application in both your windows PC(Server) and tablets or smart phones (Clients).
Connect both devices to same network (i.e. local area network)
Launch the application in your Tablet or Smart Phone (as shown in the image).
and, use the second display.

Now, I understand that it's not going to be this peaceful for all of us out there so, here are some useful tips-
Tip #1:
For getting both the devices in same network, you can create a single hotspot and connect both the devices in there or use your tablet's/smart phone's hotspot.
Tip #2:
This application won't let you connect if your device is in power saving mode. So, if you get an error while trying to connect, you might want to check your battery settings.

Tip #3:
If due to some reasons, you aren't getting the extended display or you want to duplicate the display in your device, win + p is the shortcut you are looking for. Otherwise, you can open Settings -> System -> Display -> Multiple display is your go to place.
I hope you all enjoy and try this and if there's any other issue or you need any further assistance you can reach out to us.
